J. MATTHEW HAYES, Member & Attorney

Matthew primarily practices in the following areas of law:

  • Business Litigation
  • Real Estate Litigation
  • Real Estate Agreements and Recordable Documents (e.g. purchase and sale agreements, deeds of trust, deeds of trusts, etc).
  • Business Formation ( e.g. limited liability companies, corporations, etc.)
  • Various Contract Drafting (e.g. contractor agreements, membership purchase agreements, etc.)
  • Complex Landlord-Tenant Issues (e.g. Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, HUD, and Rural Development Properties; assistance with reasonable accommodations, etc.)

Matthew grew up in Florence, Alabama. He received his juris doctor at the Wake Forest School of Law located in Winston, Salem North Carolina. Matthew obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of South Alabama where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.  

Matthew’s hobbies include biking, pack rafting, skiing, backpacking, guitars, and fishing.

TARA LOGSDON, Member & Attorney

Tara was born and raised in Reedsport, Oregon.  She obtained a bachelors degree in Accounting from Anderson University in 1993.  Tara graduated from Regent University School of Law in 1996.  She has practiced law in Alaska since 1996, previously with William F. Tull & Associates, and then with Golter & Logsdon, PC.  She was appointed as a Magistrate Judge and Superior Court Master with the Alaska Court System in Palmer in 2014, and served at that position until she returned to private practice with Matanuska Law LLC in 2019.

Tara’s extracurricular activities include travel, fishing, and investing in real estate.

M. ELIZABETH VARELA, Attorney

Elizabeth has spent more than 15 years practicing law in Alaska. She fluent in Spanish. Elizabeth truly cares about her clients’ well-being. She is passionate about supporting her clients during the most difficult stages of life and providing reassuring guidance through the court process.

KRISTINA HALLOCK, Attorney

Kristina was born and raised in Arkansas where she attended the Norbert O. Schedler Honors College at the University of Central Arkansas. She graduated summa cum laude in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a minor in Honors Interdisciplinary Studies. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Central Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law in 2018. After law school, Kristina accepted a clerkship with the Palmer Superior Court, fell in love with the Mat-Su community, and permanently moved to Alaska.

Kristina’s extracurricular activities include reading science fiction, travel, and theatre.
